About Rigid PVC FAQ

What is the formula of rigid PVC?
ZMS Materials manufactures rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polymer materials, also known as unplasticized PVC (uPVC). This material is formulated with specific additives and blended with high-quality PVC resin to enhance its processing and application properties. Unlike flexible PVC granules, rigid PVC does not contain plasticizers, thus exhibiting excellent rigidity, mechanical strength, and dimensional stability. Typical additives include heat stabilizers, lubricants, fillers, and pigments. In some applications, impact modifiers and UV stabilizers are also added to improve toughness and weather resistance.
Component Typical Content Function
PVC Resin 80–95% Main polymer providing rigidity and strength
Heat Stabilizers 1–3% Protect the PVC from heat degradation during processing
Lubricants 0.3–1.5% Improve melt flow and ensure a smooth surface finish
Fillers (e.g., Calcium Carbonate) 0–20% Increase stiffness, stability, and reduce production cost
Impact Modifiers (optional) 0–10% Enhance toughness and crack resistance
Pigments / Colorants 0–5% Provide color and UV protection
UV Stabilizers (optional) 0.1–0.5% Improve weather and sunlight resistance for outdoor use

In what situations is it necessary to use polymer PVC compound materials?

When standard PVC compound raw materials cannot meet specific performance or processing requirements, PVC composite materials are needed. By mixing resin with additives such as stabilizers, plasticizers, lubricants, and fillers, PVC composite materials can achieve an ideal balance between flexibility, strength, heat resistance, and durability, thus meeting different application needs. Among them, PVC composite materials without added plasticizers are the rigid PVC composite materials introduced on this page.
